Building the train table

Over the course of two weeks and with the help of my dad, I was able to get all of the wood to my house, get everything cut, and assemble the train table. The table top was completed while my dad was there to help me line things up and make sure everything was level. I’m really bad at doing that – if something is a little off I tend to just let it slide but my dad likes to make sure things are correct thankfully.

During the week after work, I would take maybe 15 to 30 minutes each day to cut the legs and braces and assemble them. The cutting wasn’t much fun since I barely have any tools and was using a backsaw. But the first leg was put on and I was happy.

On to the next leg! After I put it on it felt like something was wrong…apparently I put the 2×4 on the wrong way.

Since I’m lazy and I didn’t want to do the work again, I left the leg as it was and eventually added the last two legs, alternating their position to match up with the first two. I pretended it was all done on purpose as a cool style.
